FAKTOR Community Health and Sport Association proudly participated as the Hungarian partner in the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange "A New Epidemic: Obesity" (Project No. 2023-3-IT03-KA152-YOU-000174644), implemented in Rome, Italy, from 30 June to 6 July 2024.
One of the central elements of the programme was the integration of daily physical activity through guided walking and movement sessions inspired by the Walk at Home approach. These practical exercises demonstrated that regular movement is one of the most effective ways to prevent obesity and improve overall well-being. Participants experienced how consistent physical activity supports cardiovascular health, strengthens muscles, boosts energy levels, and contributes to healthy weight management. By beginning these enjoyable exercise routines from the first day, participants were encouraged to continue active lifestyles throughout the mobility and beyond.
The exchange also created a collaborative environment where participants quickly built trust, teamwork, and confidence. Interactive introduction activities encouraged creativity, communication, and cooperation as international teams introduced themselves through engaging performances and group tasks. Orientation sessions helped participants become familiar with the project's objectives, practical arrangements, safety procedures, and learning opportunities, creating a positive atmosphere that supported active participation and meaningful intercultural cooperation from the very beginning.
Another important learning component introduced participants to the Erasmus+ Programme and the educational value of international youth exchanges. Through interactive games, discussions, and discovery-based activities, participants explored the priorities of Erasmus+ while gaining a deeper understanding of non-formal learning. They also became familiar with the Youthpass Certificate and its eight key competences, discovering how self-reflection and continuous evaluation support personal development, lifelong learning, and the recognition of skills acquired during international mobility experiences.
Intercultural dialogue further enriched the opening stage of the project by giving participants the opportunity to present their traditions, music, cuisine, and cultural heritage while discovering the diversity of the partner countries. Sharing healthy traditional dishes reinforced the project's focus on balanced nutrition and healthy living, while reflection activities encouraged participants to evaluate their first learning experiences and prepare for the following stages of the exchange. Through its active participation in this international partnership, FAKTOR Community Health and Sport Association continues to support initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles, intercultural understanding, active citizenship, and international cooperation among young people across Europe.
