FAKTOR a Jövő Közösségéért Egészségügyi és Sportegyesület has officially launched the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange "Delicious Death" (Project Code: 2023-3-HU01-KA152-YOU-000174417) in Budapest, Hungary, taking place between 11–18 May 2024. Coordinated by FAKTOR, the project brings together young participants from Hungary, Türkiye, Poland, Slovakia, Portugal and the Czech Republic to explore one of today's most pressing health issues: the growing impact of fast food on physical and mental well-being. Through intercultural cooperation and non-formal education, the project aims to inspire healthier lifestyles while strengthening international friendships.
The project was created in response to the alarming increase in fast food consumption worldwide. Research continues to demonstrate strong links between unhealthy eating habits and obesity, hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and even an increased risk of depression. Although many young people are aware of these dangers, unhealthy eating patterns remain common. "Delicious Death" seeks to transform awareness into action by helping participants critically evaluate their daily nutritional choices and understand the long-term consequences of modern eating habits.
Throughout the Youth Exchange, participants will take part in interactive workshops, debates, documentaries, practical activities, intercultural learning sessions and collaborative discussions designed to improve both knowledge and personal competences. Besides learning about nutrition and healthy living, young people will strengthen their communication skills, teamwork, creativity, intercultural understanding and self-confidence while discovering the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Programme and the Youthpass Certificate. Equal participation, inclusion and respect for diversity remain core values throughout every activity.
By combining health education with international cooperation, Delicious Death aims to encourage young people to become ambassadors of healthy living within their own communities. Through dissemination activities before, during and after the mobility, participants will share what they learn with many more young people, ensuring that the project's impact extends far beyond Budapest and contributes to building healthier, more informed and socially responsible generations. 💚
