The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange "Delicious Death" (Project Code: 2023-3-HU01-KA152-YOU-000174417) officially began in Budapest, Hungary, under the coordination of FAKTOR a Jövő Közösségéért Egészségügyi és Sportegyesület. Bringing together young participants from Hungary, Türkiye, Poland, Slovakia, Portugal and the Czech Republic, the opening day focused on introducing the objectives of the project, strengthening team spirit and preparing participants for a week of collaborative learning about healthy nutrition and responsible lifestyles. The first activities laid the foundation for meaningful intercultural cooperation while encouraging active participation from every young person.

The programme started with welcome and orientation sessions where participants became familiar with the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange framework, project expectations and the opportunities offered through the Youthpass Certificate. Interactive ice-breaking games and team-building activities helped participants get to know one another, overcome communication barriers and create a supportive learning environment. These activities were carefully designed to establish trust among the international group while promoting inclusion, equality and mutual respect from the very beginning of the mobility.

Participants also attended introductory discussions highlighting the project's central theme: the growing impact of fast food on modern society. Through presentations and guided conversations, they explored why unhealthy eating habits continue to spread despite increasing public awareness. A documentary screening encouraged participants to reflect on the hidden consequences of processed food consumption, opening the door for critical thinking and lively discussions that would continue throughout the following days. The session demonstrated how non-formal education can transform scientific information into engaging learning experiences.

By the end of the first project day, participants had already begun developing stronger intercultural connections while gaining a deeper understanding of why healthy nutrition is not only a personal choice but also a social responsibility. The welcoming atmosphere created by FAKTOR a Jövő Közösségéért Egészségügyi és Sportegyesület successfully prepared the group for the upcoming workshops, practical activities and international cooperation that would further promote healthier lifestyles and active European citizenship. 🥗
