The second day of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project "No One Wants to Leave Home!" (Project No: 2023-1-AT01-KA152-YOU-000120405) continued in Pflach, Austria with a programme dedicated to dialogue, critical thinking, and intercultural exchange. Coordinated by Verein für Gemeinwesenarbeit und Minderheitenintegration, the project brought together participants from Austria, Türkiye, Greece, Spain, Ukraine, and Hungary, including representatives of the partner organization FAKTOR a Jövő Közösségéért Egészségügyi és Sportegyesület.
The day's programme began with country presentations, where each national group introduced the refugee situation in its own country. Participants discussed national approaches to migration, integration challenges, public perceptions, and examples of good practices, allowing everyone to gain a broader understanding of how refugee-related issues differ across Europe.
Following the presentations, participants joined interactive panel discussions that encouraged them to exchange opinions, ask questions, and explore the root causes of discrimination and social exclusion. By listening to personal experiences and comparing different viewpoints, they developed a deeper appreciation for empathy, mutual respect, and inclusive communities.
Throughout the activities, non-formal learning methods encouraged active participation, teamwork, and open communication. Rather than focusing only on theoretical knowledge, the workshops enabled participants to analyse real social issues, challenge stereotypes, and recognise the importance of treating every individual with dignity, regardless of their background.
The day concluded with a group reflection session, where participants evaluated what they had learned and discussed how greater awareness, intercultural dialogue, and youth participation can contribute to creating more welcoming societies for everyone.
